The other day, a dear colleague said to me: you have no restraint in showing your vulnerabilities Sarah. I paused and thought about this for second. I asked myself: why is that? The answer I got was: I have no fear in showing my vulnerabilities, because I own them and they don’t own me.

Many people allow their so-called weaknesses become them rather than transform them to a greater, better more accomplished version of themselves. Now don’t get me wrong; owning your vulnerabilities took a lot of dark nights of the soul in my journey. However, once you do own them; they become a magnificent source of inspiration and resilience to your soul. They also allow others around you to not feel along in their struggle and strife; especially when you are so open about them yourself.

I am forever indebted to the traumas, wounds, downfalls and rejections I have ever received in my life and career. They all led me to where I am today.

الحمدلله to infinity and beyond for everything! I’ve learnt to say لعله خيره to everything that happens to me – good, bad and everything in between. After all, what got you here, won’t always get you there. So you must change within to be different without.

And when one story ends, a new narrative takes flight.
